How to join a government and non government training scheme

There are more than 20 government training centers in Nigeria, which offers courses in about 50 skilled trades. Most courses lasts about six months, a few are longer but none is longer than twelve months. You can go on refresher courses, too, which are shorter, about six months. All of the courses are free for government approved training scheme and allowances are paid, and this vary whether or not training is local or away from home.

Details of training scheme courses available in your area of specialization, plus advice on the suitability of certain courses for you, and on the prospects of employment after you have done particular courses.

Power Equipment and Electrical Machines Development (PEEMADI), Okene with a mandate of developing and manufacture of machines to manufacture power equipment and electrical machines.

Prototype Engineering Development Institute (PEDI), Ilesha with a mandate of developing engineering prototypes and their production systems and then transfer of these to private sector satellite industries.
